Allerton Hotel's Avenue M Resturant Breakfast

We visited the Allerton in January 2009.
Overall we were impressed with the multimillion dollar renovation and the chic Avenue M Resturant and Lounge in the formal lobby area. For this particular post we are exploring the Breakfast Omelette (noted as the designer omelette on the menu), Red Potatoes and Toast menu option.

The menu is here (in case you're interested).

superb presentation

actual glass jelly jars were aesthetically pleasing.

their tea selection is from the brand tea forte, very classy.

another shot of the presentation.
So after chowing down on this I can honestly say the omelette was magnificent (no pun intended!), the toast was...well.. toast, but the potatoes oh wow. I say wow in a way of they should of just left them in the kitchen. They had such promise coming out in such great presentation, but no it was just a let down. Red skinned potatoes are know for their creamy appeal and robust taste. There was a definitive lack in both. Perhaps Madame Tussauds is missing some potatoes? In summary, I will be back for more omelettes - hold the skins.
